A compact, embeddable currency converter: two amount inputs (source and target) with currency dropdowns featuring country flags and search-by-code-or-name, a swap-currencies button with smooth flip animation, and a real-time exchange rate display showing the current mid-market rate with last-updated timestamp. Supports 170+ currencies via a configurable exchange rate API.
Includes a historical rate chart (line chart, 7D/30D/90D/1Y toggles) showing rate trends between the selected pair. Users can pin favorite currency pairs for quick access — persisted in localStorage. Caches the latest rates for offline use with a stale-while-revalidate strategy. Screen-reader friendly with live rate announcements.
